Kherson region's irrigation impossible without Crimea's Tytan substation, - Ukrenerho

Kherson region power distribution company (Khersonoblenerho) technical director Volodymyr Hetmanov says region's irrigation capacities are fully contingent on restoring power supply to the Crimean substation "Tytan" which was deenergized after power pylons were exploded in the Kherson region.

He said this to Krym.Realii, Censor.NET reports.

He also elaborated on rebuilding Kherson region electricity supply scheme in the wake of the incident [destruction of power pylons - ed.] as well as on how consumers would be affected.

According to him, prior to the incident, the current flowed to Crimea (Tytan substation) and returned to feed 22 settlements in the Kalanchak district, six - in the Chaplyne district, and 18 irrigation facilities in the Kherson region.

At present, the settlements are energized with less powerful substations. Hetmanov says such an alternative system will fail in summer, as the substation will have to power irrigation systems.

"Khersonoblenerho is ready to build a new substation near Chaplynka, which will replace Tytan, but the construction will take at least two years. So, it is necessary to restore powering Crimea's Tytan by the next irrigation season in the Kherson region," he said.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n362292
