Zlata Ohnevych resigns as MP: "Wake up before it's too late!"

Radical Party member Zlata Ohnevych announced her resignation as people's deputy.

She said this in the parliament, Censor.NET reports.

"Over the last year, instead of real efficient legislative activity, this parliament has witnessed lobbying of bills, warring political groups, and attempts to defend interests of certain political parties," Ohnevych said.

According to Ohnevych, who is also a pop singer, there is no place for culture under such conditions.

"Because in your opinion it [culture - ed.] does not bring big money all of you are accustomed to," she told MPs.

Ohnevych also noted she came to the parliament not for the sake of a mandate but "as a citizen who saw a new perspective for the country."

"Now I can see that when there is no culture, it is much easier to rule and manipulate the people. Being a cultural figure, I see no personal use for this parliament under such conditions. The only thing I see is constant redistribution of political power. Wake up before it's too late!" she pleaded and announced her resignation as people's deputy.
