First Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, the former NSDC Secretary Andrii Parubii said on air of 24TV.
"There was a general paralysis of law enforcement agencies, many of which were still thinking about a possible return of Yanukovych. And we had two behavioral responses. The first one - when some detachments openly sided with the enemy, as it happened with the Crimean Berkut. And there was also the second, most common one - plain sabotage. It was just sabotage of authorities' decisions," Parubii described the situation in the law enforcement agencies in the spring of 2014.
According to him, only the decision to storm the building of the SBU in Luhansk was taken five times but it had never happened.
"[The reasons were] the sabotage by law enforcement detachments and the leakage of information about our activities. But the main reason was sabotage by detachments. You know, some of them sided with Ukraine then, so once again, I do not want to go into detail," Parubii said.
"Here is an example: there was a detachment of the National Guard and we had a certain schedule for the redeployment of the detachment and there was information that the detachment had been blocked and was unable to leave the area. I personally left for the scene. But there were about seven or eight elderly women standing and holding banners. I said: "You have the entire regiment and there are eight or nine people standing. Is this the reason why you have not been able to accomplish the combat mission?" First Vice-Speaker said.
It should be reminded that Valentyn Nalyvaichenko chaired the Security Service of Ukraine during the mentioned events.
