Poltava patrol police to start operating in February-March of 2016, - Interior Minister Avakov

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov forecasts that the new patrol police in Poltava will start operating in February-March of 2016.

He said this in Poltava during announcement of enrollment to the city's new patrol police, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk noted that in the following months, enrollment and training of Poltava police officers will be taking place.

After Avakov's forecast that Poltava patrol police will start operating in February-March, Yatseniuk advocated the speed up of the training process.

The prime minister noted that Poltava police officer's salary will be between 8,000 and 10,000 UAH ($350-$435), depending on the rank.

As reported, the Ministry of Interior intended to enroll 200 persons to the Poltava patrol police.

The application process started on Sept. 23 and will last for three weeks.

The new patrol officers will be trained for three months.

The Interior Ministry intends to replace old district police departments with the new ones by 2016.
