One soldier killed, one more injured in booby trap explosion in Luhansk region, - governor Tuka

One soldier was killed and another one received injuries as a result of explosion in the Luhansk region.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the press service of the Luhansk Regional Military and Civil Administration.

"A soldier of the 92nd Brigade, native of the Zhytomyr region born in 1978, was killed lifting mines in the vicinity of Novotoshkivske village in the Popasna district and checkpoint No. 29 on Sept. 20. Another soldier, who was injured by shrapnel, was taken to a hospital in Severodonetsk. The wounded serviceman is receiving all necessary treatment," Luhansk regional military and civil administration stated.

"Unfortunately, landmines and booby traps are triggered in the Luhansk region almost every day. This situation has come about due to the large number of mined areas and the activity of the terrorists' subversive groups in the region," Luhansk Regional Military and Civil Administration Head Heorhii Tuka said.
