Ukraine's Foreign Ministry condemns Berlusconi's visit to Crimea

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry condemned today's visit of Russian president Vladimir Putin and leader of Italian political party "Forza Italia," former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi to the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

Censor.NET reports citing the Foreign Ministry press service.

This trip was not coordinated with the Ukrainian side and violates the established procedure for entry to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and exit from it.

The visit to the occupied Crimea is another attempt of the Russian Federation to legitimize its illegal occupation of the peninsula at any cost, as well as a sign of disrespect to the national sovereignty of Ukraine. The actions of the Italian politician also contradict to the EU policy regarding condemnation of Russia's aggression and non-recognition of the illegal occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry calls on all foreign citizens to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as to adhere to the established order of entry to the temporarily occupied territory.
