"Republics" ready for elections under Ukrainian laws, but "excluding Right Sector and other radicals," - Lavrov

The self-proclaimed "DPR" and "LPR" are ready to hold local elections pursuant to Ukrainian legislation and allow the OSCE to observe the process.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Interfax, this was announced by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference.

"Donetsk and Luhansk are ready to hold elections under Ukrainian laws, they are ready to allow the OSCE to observe the process, but they want to negotiate all points with Ukrainian authorities," the minister said.

According to Lavrov, the elections in the "DPR" and "LPR" pose a number of issues that can be solved only after coordination with them.

In particular, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that they oppose participation in the elections of such organizations as Right Sector and other radicals which is against Ukraine's legislation stipulating for these organizations to be entitled to join the electoral process.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n351339
