Police detained 31 suspects of illegal actions outside Rada: 13 of them released after fact-finding, - Adviser to Interior Minister

Police detained 31 persons suspected of illegal acts near the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine but released 13 of them in a short while.

Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Zorian Shkiriak wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"Update on yesterday's events outside Rada. The law enforcement agencies detained 31 persons on suspicion of involvement in illegal, criminal activities against Ukraine yesterday. The Ministry of Internal Affairs investigating bodies were performing all the relevant procedural steps yesterday evening and night. 18 people have been detained under the Article 208 of Criminal Procedure Code as of now including two soldiers of the Interior Ministry Sich Battalion. One of them is suspected of defensive grenade deployment against police officers. Both of them have recently written a letter of voluntary resignation from the detachment," he said.

"As for the other 13 people, who were taken to the Holosieve and Pechersk District Police Department, the information on their involvement in turmoil has not been confirmed and they were released. The investigative team keeps working actively to find out all the details and circumstances of yesterday's anti-state crimes outside the Verkhovna Rada. All the necessary materials are being analyzed and collected. The murder of the National Guard soldier and infliction of injuries to about 130 law enforcement officers will not go unpunished. Both organizers and perpetrators of this political-criminal bloody outrage will be found and prosecuted. The law enforcement agencies will act tough and disconcertingly!" Shkiriak summed up.
