SBU eliminated 18 Russian special services agent networks, - Poroshenko

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed 18 Russian special services agent networks.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said presenting warrants for apartments in the newly-built houses in Kyiv to the Security Service officials, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"The Security Service of Ukraine eliminated over 20 subversive groups and discontinued operations of 18 agent networks of the Russian special services," he said.

In addition, the president announced the prevention of almost 20 terrorist attacks by the SBU.

According to him, the Security Service officers have detained 600 separatists and militants, seized more than 500 pieces of weapons, about a million pieces of ammunition, 250 kilos of explosives in the Donbas this year.

"That's what we call the protection of Homeland by deed, not by word!" the president said.

Poroshenko noted that the Security Service has conducted several brilliant operations in Kharkiv and Odesa recently, where it has prevented the attempt to deploy separatists' rebellion centers, having detained agents of foreign countries and ensured peace and quiet of citizens.

Poroshenko considers such indicators show a high level of performance of the SBU officers.
