Terrorists violated cease-fire 82 times yesterday, - ATO press center

The situation remained stable in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area yesterday night. The enemy has significantly decreased the volume of artillery shelling of the Ukrainian army positions. However, the mercenaries were using small arms with provocation purposes.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center on Facebook.

According to the HQ, the most tense situation remains near Donetsk: "From 6 p.m. till midnight, mercenaries shelled Opytne village six times using 120-mm mortars, IFV armory, grenade launchers, and small arms. Besides, the enemy's mortars were spraying Pisky in the evening. Krasnohorivka positions of the Ukrainian army were fired at around 11 p.m."

It is also reported that the enemy shelled residential areas of Avdiivka at 11 p.m., knowing there were no ATO forces in the area.

"In the Luhansk region, illegal armed gangs were shelling our strong point in Stanytsia Luhanska from 9 p.m. till midnight, using mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. Near Mariupol, occupants sprayed Shyrokyne at 7 p.m. Novotroitske was fired at from 122-mm artillery at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.," the HQ informed.

At the Artemivsk direction, mercenaries used anti-tank rockets and mortars to shell a unit of the Ukrainian army in Luhanske village at 9 p.m.

"In total, the illegal armed gangs violated the cease-fire 82 times yesterday, Aug. 18. Mercenaries used artillery four times, mortars 32 times, grenade launchers and small arms 63 times. From midnight till 6 a.m. of Aug. 19, the enemy's activity slowed down," the press center added.
