Ukraine met all IMF criteria and expects positive decision on the next tranche,- PM Yatseniuk

On Friday, July 24, Ukraine's Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk met with European Parliament deputies delegation headed by Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok.

This was announced by Censor.NET citing the Cabinet's press service.

The participants of the meeting discussed current issues of social and economic situation in Ukraine, the press service informed.

"A lot depends on the debt restructuring process," Arsenii Yatseniuk stressed.

The prime minister added that the government of Ukraine had met all the demands of the International Monetary Fund and expected a positive decision on the outcome of a meeting of the IMF Board on July 31 regarding the next tranche.

"However, this is not a final decision. We need to jump-start Ukraine's economy and support those who need it, whose standards of living have dropped significantly. The government is trying to find a way to increase social spending. We will solve this problem together," the prime minister stressed.

Arsenii Yatseniuk noted that the government of Ukraine highly appreciates cooperation with the European Parliament and their stern stance in supporting Ukrainian people - "to help the people fight and win on both fronts: on the one hand, the Russian aggression, and on the other, grave social and economic problems."

"I believe that despite all the challenges, with our joint actions we will build the story of success," the PM concluded.
