 Communist parties of Ukraine banned from elections by Ministry of Justice

Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko signed a decree on July 24 on banning communist parties from election processes.

Petrenko announced of the decision on Friday, July 24, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the minister, he signed three decrees on banning communist parties from participation in the election process.

"There are three communist parties in Ukraine: the Communist party of Ukraine, the Communist party of Ukraine (new), and Communist party of workers and country people of Ukraine... The documents I signed today will legally result in banning these political forces from being electoral subjects and participation in local, state, and presidential elections," Petrenko said to Ukrainski Novyny.
