SBU searches Center for Education Quality Assessment regional branch after its register was tampered

An e-mail of a representative of the Center for Education Quality Assessment administration contained correspondence regarding necessary grades to be put in a record.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing the SBU press service.

"The Security Service identified and stopped unauthorized tampering of the external independent testing register by the officials of the Ukrainian Center for Education Quality Assessment of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine," the report reads.

"Following a criminal proceeding by the General Prosecutor's Office, a common group of the security service, PGO, and police carried out a series of searches in the premises of the center and its officials. An electronic mailbox of the head of a department contained correspondence with testing participants' personal data, as well as necessary grades be put in the record. The letters also reveal data on remuneration for these unlawful acts. Moreover, law enforcers found $134,000, 80,000 hryvnias, and 3,000 euros," the SBU added.

Investigation is under way. Searches are being conducted in one of the regional branches of the center, which transit server could be used to tamper an automated assessment system.
