Russian Foreign Ministry calls joint Ukrainian-NATO military exercises in Lviv region a provocation

Russia considers the joint military exercises of the NATO member countries and the Armed Forces of Ukraine a provocation.

Censor.NET reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

"The joint military exercises of NATO member countries and the Armed Forces of Ukraine that have been launched in the Lviv region on July 20 under the U.S. command are the clear demonstration of NATO's provocative commitment to unconditional support for the current policy of Kyiv's authorities in the south-east of Ukraine that resulted in daily civilian casualties in the region," the statement reads.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also said that the exercises could jeopardize progress in the peaceful settlement of the crisis in the Donbas.
