 Persons within MP Lanio’s circle filed criminal charges against for drug trafficking - SBU

The Ukrainian Security Service declared that the criminal cases have been launched against members of the criminal group close to the Verkhovna Rada deputy Mykhailo Lanio (Volia Narodu parliamentary group) on suspicion of drug trafficking in the Zakarpattia region.

Head of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine Hryhorii Ostafiichuk said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"Several criminal cases against persons within the circle of the so-called Bliuk's gang were filed much earlier, starting from January. These criminal proceedings are currently being investigated over illegal trafficking of drugs," he said.

In particular, the law enforcement officers have found and destroyed illicit drug laboratory within investigation of the given case.

Six suspects in the crime were detained in May. Five of them were arrested but released on bail by the court while one more suspect escaped. He is currently in the wanted list.

The law enforcement officers conducted a number of searches of assets related to members of this criminal group as part of the investigation of the conflict with the soldiers of the Right Sector in Mukacheve on July 11.

A large number of weapons have been seized as a result.
