Two anti-corruption laws to be voted in Verkhovna Rada, - Governor Saakashvili

Verkhovna Rada MPs will consider two important anti-corruption laws.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the Odesa region Governor Mikheil Saakashvili on his Facebook page.

"Two very important anti-corruption laws will be voted in the parliament. The first one prohibits to release grafters on bail, the second one makes it almost impossible for corrupt officials to hide their assets.

"The law was drafted by the best anti-corruption activists in Ukraine, and it facilitates access to information on the officials' real estate.

"As a result, by entering the name of an official to the registry of real estate property rights, every journalist or citizen will be able to learn the date of purchase of an apartment or house, the city and the region (except for the exact address and apartment number, which is a way to protect against frauds and malefactors). The same concerns land plots.

"Now, active lobbying is under way against these bills and it is important that MPs hear the call of society," Saakashvili said.
