"Those who imposed these restrictive measures with regard to Russia, the so-called sanctions, in fact, they are the originators of all the events we have witnessed in the south-east of Ukraine," Putin said.

According to him, "no one even tries to analyze the causes" of what is happening in the Donbas, "what started all the trouble."

"Of course, we need to give appropriate response to everything, to take additional systemic measures in all key areas," Putin said.
