President Poroshenko called $3 billion in Eurobonds sold to Russia in 2013 a bribe to Yanukovych's regime for the failure to sign the Association Agreement.

He stated this in an interview with Bloomberg TV, Censor.NET reports.

He noted that in his personal opinion "that was a bribe ... But I think that Ukraine will demonstrate a responsible behavior. This is the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance, and the Government, and the prime minister," Poroshenko said adding that they are provided with support and instruments.

As to $75 million to be paid by Ukraine at the end of the week, June 20, Poroshenko avoided the question saying that this is the government's decision and he will support it.

He noted that the matter was not discussed at any talks or meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "Putin never raised the question of the $3 billion in our negotiations." He also added that it is still unclear whether this will be viewed as commercial Eurobond or a state debt (Ukraine wants to write off 40% of the Eurobond debt).
