Case against BRSM company was dismissed on the day of the oil depot fire, - MP Pashynskyi

Oil depot fire Ukraine

Security agencies should regularly report to Verkhovna Rada and public on their decisions and current matters.

This was announced by People's Front MP, head of the National Security and Defense Committee Serhii Pashynskyi in the Parliament, Censor.NET reports citing People's Front press service.

"Given that the public is very much interested in certain events, like Serhii Kliuiev's escape or corruption, of which we speak ourselves from time to time, we have to teach our security agencies to report to the public. Not with general statements, but with specific deeds, certain arrests, or by providing information about why this is not done," the MP said.

"For instance, there is information that Interior Ministry opened a criminal case against BRSM oil company under my deputy's appeal, and the Prosecutor's Office closed this case in the morning when the BRSM oil depot caught fire," Pashynskyi said.

"There are specific facts, specific signatures, and these need to be analyzed and managerial decisions need to be made. So our stance is that law enforcement agencies report to the public and to the parliament," the People's Front representative summed up.
