Yatseniuk ready to index wages and pensions of Ukrainians: "I, myself, am interested in it"

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk says he is not against indexation of Ukrainians' income to take place before December 2015.

He said this in his speech before the presentation of the plan to ensure the legislative support of reforms, Censor.NET reports citing LigaBusinessInform.

Yatseniuk reminded that the indexation of income is scheduled for Dec. 1, 2015. "We are ready for this indexation. And I, myself, am interested in bringing it to an earlier date. But to do that we need to find resources," he said.

Yatseniuk noted that he agreed with the position of Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko regarding the need to increase people's income.

"We will meet together with the Finance Ministry, Ministry of Social Policy, the relevant committee, and frankly say, if we have the resources today to index the income. The government is interested in people receiving more. I ask of your faction (Radical party - ed.) in a joint operation with the Finance Ministry, the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Justice to help the government recover $1.4 billion arrested by the Ukrainian government, but not confiscated by a court or the prosecutor's office. This is a real resource to increase the income of citizens," Yatseniuk said.
