Yatseniuk and Hollande agreed to hold investment summit in Paris

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk met with French President Francois Hollande during his working visit to Paris on Wednesday, May 13.

This is stated by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, Censor.NET reports.

"The prime minister of Ukraine and the president of the French Republic discussed specific steps to support Ukraine. They also discussed the implementation of the Minsk agreements, including persistent violations of the cease-fire on the part of the Russian-controlled terrorists. Yatseniuk informed Hollande on the steps of the Ukrainian side, aimed at strict observance of the Minsk agreements," the statement reads.

President Hollande noted the importance of joint efforts of the international community in support of Ukraine, its European choice and its reform process. In this regard, the prime minister stressed the importance of more active participation of French businessmen in the reconstruction of the Ukrainian economy.

Yatseniuk and Hollande agreed to hold an investment summit in Paris in fall this year to present the investment potential of Ukraine.

"The large-scale privatization, started by the government of Ukraine, as well as the launch of the free trade zone between Ukraine and the European Union of Jan. 1, 2016 open up new opportunities for trade and investment projects," the prime minister said.

Arsenii Yatseniuk and Francois Hollande agreed to attract French experts to fighting with money laundering and corruption crimes investigation of former Ukrainian officials, many of whom hid their fortunes in France. Among other promising areas the parties noted strengthening of cooperation in the field of banking supervision and cooperation between customs authorities.

During his working visit to Paris, Yatseniuk will also meet French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Jose Angel Gurria, as well as representatives of French business circles.
