The situation in the Luhansk region yesterday, Feb. 26 was relatively calm with no shelling of Stanytsia Luhanska, Shchastia, Troitske, Triokhizbenka, Popasna and other traditional hotspots. However, a complete cease-fire has not taken place.

This is stated by the press service of Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Hennadii Moskal, Censor.NET reports.

About 10 p.m. the militants opened mortar fire on the 29th checkpoint on Bakhmutka highway near Novotoshkivka. There is no information regarding casualties.

In the vicinity of Krymske (Novoaidar district, near the former 31st checkpoint) there were shootouts between the militants and the Ukrainian military with the use of small arms, rocket-propelled grenades and mortars.

"In all towns and villages located on the demarcation line, there is an active restoration of damaged communications and life support systems. Fallen utility poles are being raised in Krymske, the electricity is being restored in Stanytsia Luhanska ... At the same time a number of villages remain cut off from power supply (Krymske, Novotoshkivka, Troitske) and gas supply (Krymske, Nyzhnie, Svetlychne, Toshkivka, Triokhizbenka). The restoration of these communications requires significant efforts of maintenance crews, and in some cases, access to the occupied territories," Moskal said.
