The court arrested former Berkut officer suspected of Maidan execution without bail

The Pechersk District Court in Kyiv has chosen a measure of restraint for former Berkut officer Oleksandr Marinchenko, who is suspected of Euromaidan activists’ execution.

This decision was announced by the investigating judge Oleh Bilotserkivets, Censor.NET reports citing RBK-Ukraine.

"The court held to satisfy a motion and apply a measure in the form of detention to Oleksandr Marinchenko..." Bilotserkivets announced.

The Court took into account the nature and gravity of the crime.

The Court noted that the reasons and circumstances in the case file show that the suspect may evade prosecution. The court held the detention without bail.

The preventive measure is valid through April 20, 2015.
