Chief of Staff Muzhenko to report on Debaltseve situation in parliament on Feb. 23

On Feb. 23, the Chief of Staff will report on the situation in Debaltseve to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the National Security and Defense.

The activity report of the General Staff on the withdrawal of the Ukrainian troops from Debaltseve will take place at the parliamentary committee hearing on Feb. 23.

This was stated by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Serhii Pashynskyi (People's Front) on the air of Radio Svoboda, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"We are planning to hear the issue on Monday behind closed doors; over half of our committee are military people who are directly related to this fighting, and I think we will make some decisions that will be declared publicly," Pashynskyi said.

The decisions will be clear and strict, he added.

Pashynskyi also noted that there is 'no shame' in the events in Debaltseve.

"It is not like the army came out defeated and crushed, that's what matters; our units came out in combat order to perform tasks... Not a single unit has retreated from Debaltseve without orders from the Command. They came out in organized manner," the MP said.
