 General Prosecutor's Office initiated investigation regarding contracts for power supply to occupied Crimea - Shokin

The General Prosecutor's Office opened criminal proceeding regarding contracts for the supply of energy to Crimea.

The General Prosecutor's Office started investigation of Ukrainian laws violation during conclusion of contracts for energy supply to the annexed Crimea, Censor.NET reports citing zn.ua.

"Yes, there is a criminal proceeding regarding Crimea, and it is being investigated," the Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin said, answering the question whether the case on the supply of electricity to occupied Crimea based on information submitted to the General Prosecutor's Office by the government commission was initiated.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yatseniuk ordered to carry out an internal inquiry on the contracts for the supply of energy to Crimea concluded between State Enterprise Ukrinterenergo and the Russian Inter RAO. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted the results of the investigation to the Internal Ministry, the General Prosecutor's Office and the SBU Feb. 11.
