 Merkel believes the Donbas cease-fire to be a very difficult path

German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced that the situation in the east of Ukraine remains very difficult, and as of today, there are no guarantees that the new 'truce' secured by the Minsk agreements will be complied with.

According to Reuters, Merkel announced this at a press conference in Berlin, Censor.NET reports citing Gazeta.ru

German Chancellor called the situation very fragile, especially due to continuing fighting in Debaltseve. According to Merkel, it had been clear that a lot of things needed to be done. She said she always new that there were no guarantees of success, and that this path would be very difficult.

As reported earlier, the terrorists are not complying with the cease-fire and continue to shell Ukrainian positions near Debaltseve, the Donetsk region, and at other directions. According to Ukraine's NSDC, they use Grads, tanks, artillery, and mortars. As of 11 a.m. Feb. 16, the mercenaries shelled the ATO forces positions for at least 129 times. Ukrainian soldiers only fire back.
