Cargo of weapons, planned to be used in armed diversion near the Verkhovna Rada was arrested not far from Kyiv – SBU chairman


The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a cargo of weapons near Kyiv, which was intended for a subversive action near the Verkhovna Rada building.

SBU chairman Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said at the extraordinary briefing on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.

"We have arrested cargo of weapons near Kyiv just 20 minutes ago. It was intended to be used in a subversive action near the Verkhovna Rada building tomorrow," he said.

According to Nalyvaichenko, there were 10 grenade launchers, ammunition and explosives that were planned to be used in a subversive action near the Verkhovna Rada building during the consideration of the issue on recognition of the 'LPR' and 'DPR' as terrorist organizations.

"In addition we have seized the Russian Federation special services instructions from the so-called outraged representatives of the battalions, who in fact have never served in volunteer battalions or were deserters or subversives," the head of the SBU said.

According to Nalyvaichenko, the subversive actions were to be carried out by those allegedly outraged representatives of volunteer battalions, which the SBU has detained.
