281 deputies voted for the corresponding bill №1883 while the minimum number of votes required for its adoption was 226, Censor.NET informs.
It is worth noting that the bill was initiated by Oleh Liashko, Serhii Skuratovskyi, Yulia Tymoshenko, and Andrii Teteruk.
Prior to this, the author of the bill Liashko stated that the task of the Verkhovna Rada is not just to deprive Yanukovych of the title, but to bring "the entire Yanukovych's gang to criminal liability." "If it were not Yanukovych's gang there would be no Yanukovych. If those who helped him steal, those who voted for the dictatorial laws were not seating here, Yanukovych would be nobody. He is a political homunculus. It all happened thanks to you - you have made him a bloodsucker, a dictator. And you continue to seat in the Verkhovna Rada," Liashko addressed the Opposition bloc. "Therefore, the second our step will be to unseat the criminal bloc and prosecute its members."
"The Law of Ukraine "On Viktor Yanukovych deprivation of title of the President of Ukraine." The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine resolves: I. To deprive Viktor Yanukovych the title of President of Ukraine. II. The law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication," - the document reads.
