Fire in a field camp in the Kherson region killed six and injured 11 soldiers – Defense Ministry

On the night of Feb. 1, a fire occurred in a field camp near Chervonyi Chaban village in the Kherson region.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the Ministry of Defense, six soldiers of the armed forces of Ukraine were killed and 11 more wounded as a result of the incident.

According to the report, the injured soldiers were promptly taken to Chaplynka district hospital, where they were given first aid. As of 7:00 a.m., the fire was localized.

Explosive specialists, Law Enforcement officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and representatives of different law enforcement agencies are working at the scene.

The cause of fire and the extent of damage to military equipment will be specified after the inspection.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine also reported that an explosion happened Sunday night at a depot ammunition in the Kherson region.
