Putin Held Security Council Meeting to Discuss Situation in Donbas


Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine at a working meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council.

This was stated by his press-secretary Dmitry Peskov, Censor.NET reports citing RIA Novosti.

"There was a detailed discussion of the situation in the south-east of Ukraine in the context of recent efforts to resolve it. The meeting participants expressed grave concern regarding the ongoing stressful humanitarian situation in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions," the spokesman for the Russian president told reporters.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, head of the Kremlin administration Sergei Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsov, head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov and head of the SVR Mikhail Fradkov, as well as a permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
