The press service said the sides had discussed US-Ukraine cooperation in the energy sector, including natural gas extraction and issues of preserving Ukraine’s gas transit potential, the press service said.
The sides also discussed Ukraine’s preparations for the coming heating season, financing and the accumulation of sufficient gas supplies in underground storage facilities. A project for creating routes for the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a regasification terminal in Poland to Ukraine was also discussed.
Zelenskyi’s advisers Oleksandr Danyliuk and Ruslan Riaboshapka, along with Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Olena Zerkal and Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO Vadym Prystaiko attended the talks. The United States was represented by US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker, and US Senator Ron Johnson.
