The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has finished investigating the submission of false information in e-declaration in 2015 and 2016 by Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
"The detectives of NABU have completed the investigation on entering incorrect information to the e-declaration of 2015 and 2016 by the Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov which is punished by criminal law," the message says.
The official was granted access to the case materials on May 3 before drawing the indictment and directing to the court.
Trukhanov is suspected of breaking law due to the absence in the declaration for 2015-2016 of information about the property of his wife. He is facing a fine of 2,500-3000 of personal exemption or public works from 150 to 200 hours or imprisonment for up to 2 years with depriving of the right to hold certain positions for up to 3 years.
Odesa Mayor did not declare the apartment, two parking places, shed, cottage house, non-residential property, two cars, shares in a number of enterprises and percent in bank deposits.
In total, Trukhanov failed to file income for the amount of 1,2 million dollars in 2015 declaration, and for 685,000 dollars in 2016 declaration.
As it was reported earlier, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov is suspected of violating the law due to the fact that he did not declare the property his wife owns.
The NABU detectives under the guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office served charges on Trukhanov due to the suspect of the embezzlement through the malpractice. Moreover, three people were detained on the same criminal proceeding.
The court released Trukhanov on the parole of Dmytro Golubov, the MP of Ukraine. Before this, the clashes near the court took place,38 people were detained.
