"Illegal trade and large-scale corruption in the defense sector in a state which is de facto in a state of war is unacceptable and has no justification either from direct participants or from those who for some reason patronised them. NABU is a new anti-corruption body, it still has to prove to the society its institutional capacity. Its strength lies in equal rules and procedures for all, as well as in the rapid and clear response to external and internal challenges. And one of such challenges is possible coverage of corruption in defense sector by several NABU employees, according to the results of the journalistic probe by Nashi Hroshi (Our Money investigation project)," the statement says.
"In order to preserve NABU as an institution, Council urges the Director of the National Bureau Atrem Sytnyk to replace from the performance of the duties of the first deputy director of NABU Hizo Uhlava, Deputy Head of the Third Division and Detective Division of the Main Detective Division of NABU, Oleh Borysenko and the detective of the Third Division and subdivisions of the Main Division of Detectives NABU Dmitrii Lytvynenko without waiting for the results of the official investigation. These employees should be placed under internal investigation immideately," stressed in the statement.
"CPC of NABU immediately initiates an extraordinary meeting with the participation of the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk, as well as all mentioned employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, with the requisitioning of copies of all the documents mentioned in the video," CPC of NABU summed up.
