"Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are 85% equipped with weapons, and the units involved in JFO are 99% equipped. In 2014-2018 the combat capability of a big amount of weaponary was restored with repairs, new and upgraded supplies and the system of technical support of troops at all levels was created.
In 2014, when withdrawing weapons from storage it turned out that the level of its technical operability was significantly overestimated. In fact the level of weapons operability was lower by 40-45 percent. Up to 50 percent of the items required additional maintenance and repair.
"In 2014-2018, 16 new military brigades were formed in the Armed Forces while the manpower those existing was increased. It means that weapon demand has increased as well up to 10,000 items. More than 10,000 items of weaponary such as anti-aircraft missile complexes, tanks, armored personnel carriers, 152mm and 203mm self-propelled artillery units, anti-tank missile systems, etc. were supplied to the Armed Forces from the Surplus Ordnance Center," General Staff of the Armed Forces reported.
