"I am sure, one day Epiphanius will visit Cyprus to concelebrate," said Chrysostomos.
Chrysostomos told this to Metropolitan Elpidifor of Constantinople Patriarchate, who was visiting the Orthodox Church of Cyprus. Elpidifor gave Chrysostomos his recently published book about the visit of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Ukraine in 2008.
Archbishop of Cyprus also said that considers Ecumenical Patriarchate a "mother-church" and is going to preserve his good relations with it in spite of pressures.
Metropolitan Elpidofor also mentioned the close relations and historical, ecclesiastical and spiritual ties the Church of Cyprus has with the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
Dec. 15, the Congregative Convocation where Orthodox Church in Ukraine was created took place in Kyiv. Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Rus Epiphanius (Dumenko) was appointed as a leader of the newly created church.
Jan. 5, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed Tomos of autocephaly for OCU, and Jan. 6, he passed the document to Metropolitan Epiphanius.
