 Zelenskyi owns movie business in Russia though he claimed its termination in 2014, - Skhemy project

Showman Zelenskyi, who runs for president in Ukraine, still owns movie business in Russia though he claimed to have closed it back in 2014.

Censor.NET reports citing Skhemy project (joint project of Radio Svoboda and UA:Pershyi TV channel) investigative journalism piece titled Zelena Rodyna Ru.

Journalists have listed three Russian companies engaged in movie and TV production: Vaysberg Pictures, Platinumfilm and Green Films. The founder of all three is Cyprus Green Family LTD company.

Zelenskyi’s long-term business partners are behind the company, as well as Kolomoiskyi’s (Ukraine’s infamous oligarch. – Ed.) companion Tymur Mindych.

Skhemy project went into financial records of the Russian companies and found out they all continue business operations.

Green Films is the most successful. Federal State Statistics Service data shows that in 2014, the company’s income amounted to 340 million RUB ($4.8 million). In 2015, it was almost 208 million ($3.1 million) and in 2016, over 123 million ($1.8 million).

In 2017, the Green Films income was almost 180 million RUB ($2.6 million) of which 143 million ($2.0 million) was earned on rent, royalties and license fees.

In 2014-2017, total receipts to the company’s accounts amounted to almost $13 million (over 350 million UAH).

Green Films continued to produce movies in Russia after its military aggression against Ukraine in 2014.

Skhemy also found out that Green Films partially owned by Zelenskyi through a Cyprus company won a tender for the partial movie production funding from Russia’s state budget.
