As reported by Censor.NET citing Interfax-Ukraine, the joint group is expected to be comprised of representatives of the National Commission for the State Regulation of Energy, Housing and Utilities Services (NERC), Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services.
"I think that on Wednesday we will set this task before the government or adopt some other document so that the National Commission carries out an extensive inspection of all regional gas suppliers of the country," Hroisman said during Q&A session in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.
"What I hear today goes beyond the limits of authority and the population suffers from this. Probably, we will even create a joint group - NERC, representatives of the government - the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry - and we will begin to bring them around," he said.
On Oct. 19, the government decided to raise gas prices for the population in Ukraine by 23.5 percent from Nov. 1, 2018. The issue of gas prices for the population is the key to renewing IMF financing.
