 Yatseniuk Initiiated Urgent Talks with EBRD on Construction of Pipeline to Poland: We Would Be Able to Buy All Gas from EU


Ukraine's Prime minister Arsenii Yatseniuk authorized to hold urgent talks with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding implementation of project to construct new pipeline between Ukraine and Poland.

Launch of the pipeline is possible in 2016, Yatseniuk said during a meeting of energy headquarters, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

"We are preparing the project. (We need to) urgently conduct negotiations with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to finance the project," Yatseniuk said. "It is necessary to build an additional pipeline, interconnect, between Ukraine and Poland. I support proposal for the construction of interconnect between Ukraine and Poland."

Yatsenyuk also noted that the pipeline will increase the capacity of the Polish gas corridor to 80 million cubic meters per day. "This actually means that we can completely buy all the natural gas in the countries - members of the EU."

Yatsenyuk emphasized that it is possible to actually build the pipeline in 2016.
