"We spend months collecting evidence against thieves stealing expensive cars. We make every effort to detain them in action since our courts are very merciful to such criminals. I don’t know what’s so special about them but they definitely have lots of money," National Police Deputy Chief, Viacheslav Abroskin wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.
He recalled that the police had recently chased and apprehended a ring of carjackers while stealing a Lexus SUV.
"And look where it got us: Sviatoshynskyi court ruled each of the three carjackers to post up to 334,000 hryvnia (about $11,930) in bail to be released from remand prison: Avdienko – placed in pre-trial custody with a right to be released on bail of 264,000 hryvnia (about $9,430), Korin – detained with an option to post 264,000 hryvnia in bail, Hryhorian – remanded in custody with 334,000 hryvnia (about $11,930) bail option," the law enforcer stressed.
"And here we go again with our endless chase," Abroskin summed up.
