No Ukrainian soldier killed or wounded in 16 attacks by Russian mercenaries over past day, - JFO center

The intensity of hostilities in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone decreased on Oct. 18 compared to the previous day.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Oct. 18, the Russian-led forces mounted 16 attacks on the government troops using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements twice.

It is noted that the Russian occupation troops employed 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, anti-tank missile systems, grenade launchers of various types, large-caliber machine guns and small arms against the defenders of Krymske, Luhanske, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka, Stepne, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane and Lebedynske.

"The enemy barraged the Ukrainian troops’ stronghold in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka with 120-mm mortars. The invaders also bombarded the Joint Forces fighters deployed near Chermalyk with 82-caliber mortar shells. The defenders of Lebedynske were shelled with anti-tank guided missiles.

"No Ukrainian soldier was killed or wounded in action over the past 24-hour period," the report reads.

Intelligence sources indicate two invaders eliminated and four wounded yesterday.

"Today, Oct. 19, the enemy committed three attacks on the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds near Avdiivka, Hnutove and Vodiane using no heavy weapons but only grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms. A Ukrainian soldier received combat injuries in one of these attacks," the JFO HQ press center said.
