As reported by Censor.NET citing the press office of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Turkey and the Czech Republic take part in the exhibition for the first time. The event is attended by high-ranking delegations led by the heads of defense ministries and agencies from Austria, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Myanmar, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Poland, Moldova, Belarus, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, the Czech Republic.
The exhibition presents the products of leading arms producers from the USA, Poland, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Germany, China, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan.
NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, who headed the steering committee of the exhibition and was unable to attend the opening due to events in Ichnia, said that "we have one of the best defense exhibitions since Ukraine's independence."
"Ukraine's defense enterprises are capable of producing competitive and reliable weapons and military hardware that is tested in in a real world engagement. Those using this hardware confirm its performance meets the best world standards while this equipment is much cheaper," he said.
The NSDC secretary said that "numerous conferences, seminars and other scientific and practical events are held at the exhibition, during which experts from Ukrainian and foreign scientific and research institutions, arms designers and representatives of leading defense companies have an opportunity to exchange views, share experience and discuss promising directions and technologies for the development and production of modern weapons; an opportunity to launch and implement cooperation and investment projects; the peculiarities of countering modern forms of aggression and the use of armament to repel it; technologies and means of protection, etc."
"I am convinced that this year's Arms and Security exhibition and Aviasvit XXI aerospace display will contribute to the strengthening of not only our state but also many partner countries," Turchynov stressed.
