As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Oct. 8, combined Russian-separatist forces committed 36 attacks on the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds with banned heavy weapons being used in 12 cases.
It is noted that the Russian-occupying troops employed 120- and 82-mm mortars, armament of infantry fighting vehicles, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms against defenders of Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Katerynivka, Stepne, Troitske, Luhanske, Travneve, Avdiivka, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske and Shyrokyne.
"The Joint Forces fighters deployed near Krymske, Luhanske, Vodiane and Lebedynske were bombarded from 120-mm mortars. The invaders also barraged the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds in the vicinity of Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Luhanske and Travneve with 82-mm mortar shells. The defenders of Shyrokyne came under fire of ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns. In addition, the defenders of Novotoshkivske, Troitske, Vodiane and Lebedynske were fired upon with armament of infantry fighting vehicles.
"Three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in action over the past 24-hour period," the report reads.
Intelligence sources indicate five invaders eliminated and another six wounded yesterday.
"Today, Oct. 9, the enemy committed two attacks on the Joint Forces fighters deployed near Pavlopil and Shyrokyne, Mariupol section of the forefront, using grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms. No attacks with heavy weapons were recorded today. The Ukrainian troops suffered no casualties in the said attacks," the JFO HQ said.
