Ukrainian army reports no losses amid 21 attacks by Russian mercenaries in past day

The intensity of hostilities mounted by combined Russian-separatist troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone somewhat decreased over the past 24-hour period.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Sept. 17, the invaders committed 21 attacks on the government forces using heavy weapons banned by the Minsk agreements in two cases.

The Russian occupation forces fired upon the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds near Krymske, Luhanske, Svitlodarsk, Starohnativka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske and Shyrokyne with grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. The enemy shelled the defenders of Lebedynske village from 82-mm mortars. The Russian mercenaries also bombarded the Ukrainian troops’ strongpoints near Pavlopil with 120-mm mortar shells.

"No JFO member was killed or wounded in action over the past 24 hours. Intelligence sources indicate one Russian mercenary eliminated and another one wounded yesterday," the report reads.

As for today, Sept. 18, the enemy fired upon the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds three times. All of the attacks were committed at the Mariupol section of the front: the government forces’ strong points in the vicinity of Lebedynske and Vodiane villages came under fire of large-caliber machine guns and small arms which caused no casualties among the Ukrainian military.
