On Sept. 13, NABU detectives served Ukraine’s Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian with charge papers accusing him of illicit enrichment allegedly committed ten years ago, "using or purchasing" a car for his brother and not declaring his two-week long residence in a house in 2016.
Omelian said NABU leadership colluded with Ukrainian politicians and announced his intention to sue the agency. He adamantly denied any wrongdoing and said he was not going to resign.
In turn, NABU leadership called Omelian’s statement regarding corruption charges brought against him a "distortion of facts."
