 Ukrainian army reports four soldiers wounded in 33 attacks yesterday, one of them later died from his injuries

The security situation in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone somewhat aggravated over the past day but remained under control of the Ukrainian troops.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Sept. 11, combined Russian-separatist forces attacked the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds 33 times using heavy weapons in two cases.

The Ukrainian soldiers deployed on the outskirts of Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Zolote, Katerynivka, Luhanske, Novoluhanske, Maiorsk, Shumy, Kamianka, Pisky, Marinka, Starohnativka, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane and Shyrokyne came under enemy fire.

"The Russian occupation forces committed deliberate attacks using grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms as well as bombarded the defenders of Vodiane with 82-mm mortar shells. The enemy also barraged the Ukrainian soldiers’ stronghold in the vicinity of Shyrokyne, the Mariupol section of the forefront, from 120-mm mortars. Besides, several strong points near Krymske village at Luhansk section of frontline came under fire of the armament of infantry fighting vehicles.

"Four servicemen were wounded in action over the past 24-hour period. One of them later died from his severe injuries," the statement reads.

Intelligence sources report two militants of Russian-occupation troops killed and five wounded in backfire yesterday.

"Today, Sept. 12, the enemy fired upon the Ukrainian troops five times. Two attacks were recorded at Luhansk section of the frontline near Krymske village and the rest on the outskirts of Hnutove and Vodiane villages at Mariupol direction. In all cases, the enemy employed grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms against the JFO troops inflicting no casualties on them," the situation report reads.
