Director of the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), Roman Truba, has appointed deputy directors of the agency’s five territorial directorates based in Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Melitopol, Kramatorsk and Mykolaiv.

As reported by Censor.NET citing a statement on the SBI website, Oleksandr Lysyi was appointed deputy director of the territorial directorate in Khmelnytskyi, Oleksandr Melnykov - in Kyiv; Bohdan Chehil - in Melitopol, Ihor Rudenko - in Kramatorsk, Mykola Chernov - in Mykolaiv.

"Five of the 14 winners of the contest for the posts of deputy directors of the territorial directorates were appointed today while the results of the polygraph tests, background investigations, information collected by the NABU, and media reports were taken into account," Truba said.

He noted that there are concerns about possessions of some winners: "If a candidate provides an explanation, and this explanation appears to be substantiated, it will be taken into account when decision regarding one will be made."

"Some candidates are still subject to background checks. The decision regarding some nominees will be taken in the coming days, but this may be a disapproval," the SBI chief said.

On Aug. 20, the contest committee picked 14 candidates for the posts of deputy directors of the SBI territorial directorates.
