Combined Russian-separatist forces continue inviting retaliation of the Ukrainian servicemen in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone in order to blame them of breaching the Minsk peace deal.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Aug. 20, the invaders mounted 20 attacks on the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds occasionally using prohibited heavy weapons.

"The Russian occupation forces committed deliberate attacks using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. They also used 82-mm mortars at certain sections of the forefront. The defenders of Krymske, Svitlodarsk, Popasna, Marinka, Hnutove, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, Vodiane, and Shyrokyne came under the enemy fire. The Ukrainian soldiers deployed in the vicinity of Lebedynske were shelled with 82-mm mortars. The occupants also bombarded the outskirts of Novoluhanske village with 120-mm mortar," the report reads.

Two Ukrainian servicemen were injured in action over the past 24-hour period.

Today, Aug. 21, the Russian occupation forces fired upon the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds on the outskirts of Lebedynske and Vodiane villages twice with armament of the infantry fighting vehicles and large-caliber machine guns inflicting no casualties on the Ukrainian military personnel.

Intelligence sources indicate three invaders killed and two others wounded over the past day.
