Chief of Ukrainian National Police Serhii Kniaziev says one more person may be involved in the acid attack on adviser to Kherson mayor, activist Kateryna Handziuk.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the Communications Department of the National Police, Kniaziev told a briefing today.

According to the police chief, the law enforcers found evidence of involvement of one more individual in the crime. Consequently, the police conduct a set of investigatory measures to identify this person. With the sanction of the investigator, the law enforcement officers ask the media and public to help identify possible perpetrator to speed up the probe.

"That's the person the investigators believe is involved in the offense," Kniaziev said.

As reported, Kherson City Council executive officer, Kateryna Handziuk, who tried to deal with local separatists and harshly criticized the authorities, namely the law enforcement officials, was doused with acid in Kherson early on July 31.

On Aug. 2, she was urgently taken from Kherson to Kyiv by an air ambulance.

On Aug. 3, the law enforcers detained the person suspected of perpetrating attack on the activist.
