Combined Russian-separatist forces continued inviting retaliation of the Ukrainian army in the Donbas over the past 24-hour period occasionally using heavy weapons banned by the Minsk accords.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the Joint forces operation (JFO) press center as of Aug. 5.

"Yesterday, Aug. 05, the situation in the Joint forces operation zone remained under control despite 40 attacks mounted by the enemy on our troops’ positions including four strikes with heavy weapons.

"The Russian occupation forces committed deliberate attacks using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, as well as armament of infantry fighting vehicles at certain sections of the forefront. The defenders of Krymske, Novozvanivka, Luhanske, Svitlodarsk, Pivdenne, Novhorodske, Marinka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, Vodiane, and Shyrokyne came under enemy fire. Moreover, the invaders shelled our positions near Luhanske and Hnutove with 82-mm mortars while defenders of Lebedynske were bombarded with 120-mm mortars.

"One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in action over the past day," the report reads.

Today, Aug. 6, the Russian occupying forces committed four attacks on the strongholds of the Ukrainian servicemen deployed on the outskirts of Krymske, Marinka, and Lebedynske villages resulting in a wounded Ukrainian serviceman. Intelligence sources indicate two invaders eliminated and seven others wounded in backfire over the past 24 hours.
