Ukrainian army reports no casualties as Russian mercenaries mounted 17 attacks in Donbas over past day

Combined Russian-separatist forces keep violating truce in the Joint forces operation (JFO) zone occasionally using heavy weapons banned by the cease-fire deal.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of July 18, 2018, Russian mercenaries fired upon the strongholds of the Ukrainian troops 17 times using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements in three cases.

"The Russian occupation forces committed attacks at all sections of the frontline: the defenders of Stanytsia Luhanska, Troitske, Orikhove, Luhanske, Svitlodarsk, Pivdenne, Avdiivka, Marinka, Starohnativka, Lebedynske and Vodiane came under fire. It is noteworthy that the enemy committed three strikes with 82-mm mortars at Svitlodarsk salient and also carried out another provocation near Stanytsia Luhanska in the area of disengagement of forces and hardware to once again disrupt the implementation of the relevant decision taken by the Trilateral Contact Group. The invaders committed all those attacks to invite retaliation of the JFO units to later accuse them of breaching truce," the statement reads.

Ukrainian defenders incurred no battle casualties yesterday.

Intelligence sources indicate two invaders killed and another five wounded in backfire over the past 24-hour period.

The JFO HQ added that today, July 19, the Russian occupation forces fired upon the defenders of Pisky and Vodiane twice.
